Recently, Shanghai MicroPort EP MedTech Co., Ltd. (referred to as "MicroPort EP") held an international webinar centering “MAY THE TRUEFORCE BE WITH YOU——Clinical Application of TrueForce™ Catheter and Columbus™ System”. Dr. Jose Luise Merino, president of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), and Dr. Néstor López Cabanillas, Vice-president of Latin American Heart Rhythm Society (LAHRS), were invited to chair the meeting. Dr. Mervat Aboulmaaty, President of African Heart Rhythm Association (AFHRA), was invited to be the moderator of the meeting, and a number of electrophysiology experts from Turkey, Spain and Poland were invited to share their clinical application experience. Topics including Columbus™ 3D EP Navigation System (referred to as "Columbus™ 3D System") and FireMagic™ TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter (referred to as "TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter") in catheter ablation of arrhythmia were widely discussed during the webinar, presenting an academic feast in the field of electrophysiology.
In the opening speech, Dr. Jose Luise Merino, President of the European Heart Rhythm Association, addressed his hope that the webinar would facilitate knowledge and experience sharing among physicians from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and beyond. He also shared his positive experience with the latest versions of the TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter and Columbus™ 3D System software in mapping and ablation procedures. Dr. Merino highly praised the real-time and precise pressure feedback of the TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter, emphasizing how the Energy Index (EI) provides reliable ablation parameters for physicians, providing real-time prediction of ablation lesion and effectively enhancing ablation efficacy.
During the meeting, Özcan, Dr. Emin Evren from the Heart Rhythm Management Center of Dokuz Eylul University of Turkey, shared his clinical experience with the Columbus™ 3D System and TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter, including a WPW case and AFL case. He mentioned that the TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter can accurately detect subtle pressure changes, providing real-time, precise, and stable pressure feedback. Additionally, its ergonomic handle ensures comfort and ease of grip, while its excellent torque control makes it easy to manipulate, effectively enhancing the efficacy and safety of procedures. Greek expert Dr. Vrachatis Dimitrioses highly praised the atrial models constructed by using the latest version of Columbus™ 3D System software in these cases, then engaged in-depth discussions with Dr. Emin Evren Özcan regarding the clinical application of Energy Index (EI).
Dr. Eduardo Franco from Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal in Spain shared his experience utilizing Columbus™ 3D System in ablation procedures for atrial flutter. He noted that TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter accurately indicated the force value and direction of catheter-tissue contact. Dr. Franco also highlighted the clear structure of the atrial models constructed by the latest version of the Columbus™ 3D System software. Alongside Dr. Armando Salito from Villa del Sole Clinic Hospital in Italy, they engaged in extensive discussions on how the Energy Index (EI) enhances ablation efficacy.
The Dr. Krzysztof Myrda from the Polish Military Hospital Gliwice shared a case of atrial fibrillation and a case of atrial tachycardia ablation, saying that TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter could effectively reduce the procedure time, one of his cases only took 45 minutes and was successfully completed. The X-ray exposure is significantly reduced, thereby improving the safety of procedure.
Professor Dr. Pilar Cabanas of Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital in Spain shared two cases of AFL and one case of AVNRT. She emphasized the efficacy of utilizing the TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter alongside the latest version of the Columbus™ 3D System software. This integration enables rapid construction of an atrial model and precise localization of His bundle's anatomical position. Moreover, with the real-time ranging feature of Smart Label, the distance between the ablation catheter and the His bundle can be accurately measured, significantly enhancing the safety of ablation procedure.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. N López Cabanillas, commended the seminar's wealth of academic insights, emphasizing its significance as a vital educational platform for electrophysiology professionals worldwide. He expressed particular satisfaction with the remarkable performance of the Columbus™ 3D System and TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter in clinical settings. Dr. López Cabanillas eagerly anticipates the future development of MicroPort EP’s innovative electrophysiology solutions, aiming to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.
In the future, MicroPort EP will continue to build an academic exchange platform, conducting in-depth exchanges with domestic and foreign electrophysiology experts, moving forward on academic sharing and scientific research innovation. Our ultimate goal is to deliver comprehensive products and professional services, thereby enhancing patient care and physician support.
